Sun and sand, mesquite and drought. Water is such a precious commodity that we did big holes to try to store it. Or we dig big wells to try to recover it from below.
Smog and congestion, or little dusty towns with boarded up buildings. The contrast is stark.
Texans, New Mexicans, Oklahomans, Arizonans, Louisianians we have mush state pride and rivalry. Each state is big, as states go. It is a good place to visit, to be from to move to.
Because I am away I miss the Southwest. But I shall return.

This ancient place symbolizes for me how important it is to honor the past, know those who came long before us, exhibit craftsmanship, and build for the long haul. I have sought to do all this since 2005. While speaking out of very Progressive political leanings, I still maintain a deep love of the Constitution.
