S/SW blog philosophy -

I credit favorite writers and public opinion makers.

A lifelong Democrat, my comments on Congress, the judiciary and the presidency are regular features.

My observations and commentary are on people and events in politics that affect the USA or the rest of the world, and stand for the interests of peace, security and justice.

Some quick thoughts about the southwest

Sun and sand, mesquite and drought. Water is such a precious commodity that we did big holes to try to store it. Or we dig big wells to try to recover it from below.
Smog and congestion, or little dusty towns with boarded up buildings. The contrast is stark.
Texans, New Mexicans, Oklahomans, Arizonans, Louisianians we have mush state pride and rivalry. Each state is big, as states go. It is a good place to visit, to be from to move to.
Because I am away I miss the Southwest. But I shall return.
From on the road, more later. . .
