S/SW blog philosophy -

I credit favorite writers and public opinion makers.

A lifelong Democrat, my comments on Congress, the judiciary and the presidency are regular features.

My observations and commentary are on people and events in politics that affect the USA or the rest of the world, and stand for the interests of peace, security and justice.

Shameless fear-mongering

On purpose, it would seem, has come for Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani. Playing his one "hole card" right off the bat, Giuliani wants voters to recall his leadership during the 9/11/01 crisis period. To quote from today's Politico.com,
Rudy Giuliani said if a Democrat is elected president in 2008, America will be at risk for another terrorist attack on the scale of Sept. 11, 2001.
But if a Republican is elected, he said, especially if it is him, terrorist attacks can be anticipated and stopped.
People do not need to be tricked by this tactic. You know, it is quite a while since that time and things have changed. Thank goodness the American electorate has come to new understanding of today's reality. I do not believe that trick will work again.

I can't imagine why he thinks this will work for him. Thanks for the comment.
