This Slate post is a convincing argument against those senators who seem to forget that the Constitution is not a document that can be turned on and off at will. To ignore the rule of law for the whimsical reasons cited by these men, would put our entire system of justice under question. It has been there all this time for the protection of all who qualify, either guilty and innocent. Whenever possible, I favor treating the acts of "wannabe" terrorists as needing criminal prosecution. The last thing we need to do is to elevate the bad actor to the status of warrior (enemy combatant). That is exactly what they are trying to achieve with their inept and misguided attempts to terrorize us. To these fear mongering senators, I say, "Get over it! You are not helping." http://amplify.com/u/5v5i
This ancient place symbolizes for me how important it is to honor the past, know those who came long before us, exhibit craftsmanship, and build for the long haul. I have sought to do all this since 2005. While speaking out of very Progressive political leanings, I still maintain a deep love of the Constitution.
