S/SW blog philosophy -

I credit favorite writers and public opinion makers.

A lifelong Democrat, my comments on Congress, the judiciary and the presidency are regular features.

My observations and commentary are on people and events in politics that affect the USA or the rest of the world, and stand for the interests of peace, security and justice.

WaPo provides chart on how House members might vote this weekend.

Chris Cillizza, who blogs at The Fix at The Washington Post  published a chart of how House Members, as of March 19th, are reportedly planning to vote. When health care reform reconciliation legislation is decided, possibly on Sunday, here is the segment of his report that pertains to my home state of Texas. Kudos to Chris for this information via a HootSuit tweet, which could prove very enlightening on Member motivations.

Red State Texas will not be helpful to Democrats' efforts to enact health care reform.  It looks pretty bleak for the Progressive Wing of the party, but not for an overall Democratic victory.  I am cautiously optimistic, and impatient for the outcome.
