So I have refused to read anything beyond the headlines or watch anything on TV about these news items, beginning with today's illustration. BTW, the photo at left is copyrighted by Reuters.
I understand that the photo-op event leading to this photograph came out of the highest of motives, showing respect for the host country's traditional costumes. But such an image sets up all kinds of funny and ironic thoughts about these world leaders.
In fact it was the encounter with this photo that was the "inspiration?" for today's post about TMI (too much information). The photo credit reads:
President Bush , Russian President Vladimir Putin (R) and China's President Hu Jintao pose for the official photograph Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation ( APEC ) Summit wearing Vietnamese 'ao dai' silk tunics in Hanoi, November 19, 2006.

My challenge to the readers of S/SW today is to avoid clicking on any of the following links. Each of the stories will give you more than you want or need to know about what is going on in your world. But if you absolutely must know more about the "dress-up" begin with this link: The Daily Mail story is headlined, "Thoroughly Wizard Outfits."
There are several more links I warn you to avoid:
- Yahoo! News - My favorite "Kramer," Michael Richards lost his cool, then apologized.
- AMERICAblog - OJ Simpson's book & TV special were canceled by Fox News' Rupert Murdoch.
- AMERICAblog - John Kerry still thinks he can run for president, despite his difficulty with being jokester.
- Yahoo! News - The "TomKat" wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes featured a never-ending kiss.
- Think Progress - John Ashcroft gets his portrait ("enshrined"?) in the Justice Department.
- New York Times - Karl Rove faces a tough road ahead as he tries to maintain his role as "Bush's brain."
- Firedoglake - In the eyes of many bloggers, NYT columnist Maureen Dowd's criticism of soon-to-be House Speaker Nancy Pelosi diminished this popular writer.
- Yahoo! News - Madonna's adoption hearing has been postponed.
Were you able to complete this "NOT DO" assignment? If so, congratulations. You saved yourself time, energy and clear thoughts. If not, if you clicked anyway, just know that there is no punishment, only aggravation because now your head is cluttered with TMI.

My "creative post" today at Southwest Blogger is about FDR and Thanksgiving.
My “dreams and dreaming” post today at Good Second Mondays is about discussing dreams with others.
