This ancient place symbolizes for me how important it is to honor the past, know those who came long before us, exhibit craftsmanship, and build for the long haul. I have sought to do all this since 2005. While speaking out of very Progressive political leanings, I still maintain a deep love of the Constitution.

A lifelong Democrat, my comments on Congress, the judiciary and the presidency are regular features.
My observations and commentary are on people and events in politics that affect the USA or the rest of the world, and stand for the interests of peace, security and justice.

Baited breath
The world gets to be a smaller place every day. Those of us back at home wait with baited breath to learn what the plan is.
New York - Our president and Iran's president were under the same roof today blustering at each other and secretly hoping for a conversation at the same time.
Space - And three different space craft are in orbit the same neighborhood, three crews - twelve people - dependent and intertwined with each other in this very dangerous business of space exploration.
Middle East and West - And at the same time the people back home in Washington and Tehran hope their leaders can get it right and avoid disaster.
U.S., Germany, Canada, and Russia - And all the people back in the mission control centers around the world want to get it right for those up there too.
Earth - the "blue marble" as an astronaut once described it. So many lives depend on getting it right in the face of such great risks. We hold our collective breath.
