We can no longer deny the reality - Thanks (I think) to DailyKos poster, majcmb1, for a stomach-knotting link and quote about how bad the situation really is in Iraq. Mariam Karouny's analysis is that "Gloom descends on Iraqi leaders as civil war looms." And her arguments ring true. It is just a matter of time now.
No NIE coming to Our Current President - The comment comes from a diary by Steven D, "Breaking: Negroponte Censors CIA from telling Truth re: Iraq." The blog and 100+ comments concern the claim that Negroponte wants to protect the president from another National Intelligence Estimate that would be a too-pessimestic assessment of the war situation in Iraq.
It's ok to let it out - I think we can just go ahead and let him know. It is all over the papers by now.
