Digging Out
What does one do when up to the nose
in the grit and sand of life?
One needs a shovel, where is the hose
to clear a path through the strife?
Beset day by day by those in the knows,
the uninformed opinion is rife.
Daily bad news weaves little tracks
of disillusionment in my mind.
Lost is the hard news side to cutbacks
in favor of celebrity pieces of kind.
Drivel dished by has-beens and hacks
makes it hard for me to unwind.

This ancient place symbolizes for me how important it is to honor the past, know those who came long before us, exhibit craftsmanship, and build for the long haul. I have sought to do all this since 2005. While speaking out of very Progressive political leanings, I still maintain a deep love of the Constitution.

A lifelong Democrat, my comments on Congress, the judiciary and the presidency are regular features.
My observations and commentary are on people and events in politics that affect the USA or the rest of the world, and stand for the interests of peace, security and justice.
